Last Thursday evening, founders, builders, and entrepreneurs gathered at Simmer Down in San Salvador for another edition of the Foundry Labs Startup Founders Meetup.
What followed was something increasingly rare: real conversations between people actively building.
No panels. No corporate theater. Just founders sharing ideas, challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned over pizza and conversation.
The evening featured a special presentation by Christian Wright, CEO of Weris App,who spoke about the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and what it means for startups being built today. From practical AI tools founders can implement immediately to the broader opportunities emerging across Latin America, the discussion quickly turned into an open exchange of ideas and questions from the room.

But the value of the meetup goes beyond any single speaker.
Some attendees were launching products. Others were still refining ideas. Some came looking for technical insight, others for community. What connected everyone in the room was a shared belief that El Salvador is entering a new era of innovation and entrepreneurship.

That matters.
For years, many talented Salvadorans felt they had to look elsewhere for opportunity. Today, a growing number of founders are choosing to build locally while thinking globally. Communities, meetups, and open conversations like these are becoming part of the infrastructure that supports that shift.
Foundry Labs was created with that mission in mind: helping founders turn early ideas into structured, market-ready companies through strategy, branding, and execution support.
The Startup Founders Meetup takes place every two weeks in San Salvador, bringing together entrepreneurs, creatives, developers, and operators who want to build meaningful things and connect with others doing the same.
In emerging startup ecosystems, conversations matter. Networks matter. Community matters.
And sometimes, the best ideas really do start around a pizza table.
